Are you accepting new clients?
Yes! though availability is limited. Please reach out for more information.
How long are therapy sessions?
Individual sessions last 50 minutes.
Couples and group sessions are 75 minutes.
Do you take insurance?
I am in-network with Lyra for individual therapy. For all other cases, I am out-of-network, and you will be responsible for the full session fee at each appointment.
Can I get reimbursed by my insurance?
If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential partial reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider regarding your specific coverage before scheduling your first appointment.
What is your approach to therapy?
I work primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) frameworks. Therapy is about making the implicit explicit—helping you gain self-awareness while also holding yourself accountable for the challenges in your life. This often means facing uncomfortable emotions and working directly through them rather than avoiding them.
I take an active, structured approach to therapy and believe in brief, solution-focused work to help clients through life transitions and challenges such as anxiety, low self-esteem, work-related stress, and adjustment difficulties. My goal is to help you develop the tools to eventually outgrow therapy and navigate challenges independently.
What is expected of me as a client?
Think of yourself as an active participant in this process. Therapy is most effective when you are open to new perspectives, committed to practicing techniques outside of sessions, and willing to engage in tasks that may be outside your usual routine. This may include structured homework assignments and committing to behavioral changes that align with your goals.
Do you offer telehealth sessions?
Yes. Under the California Telemedicine Act, therapy via phone or video is considered telemedicine. While telehealth offers increased accessibility, it also has limitations, such as the inability to observe nonverbal cues.
Do you provide letters for FMLA, Emotional Support Animals (ESA), or disability claims for anxiety or depression?
No. I do not provide support or documentation for financial or legal matters, including FMLA, ESA letters, or disability applications. I believe these requests can create conflicts of interest that may interfere with the therapeutic process.
